Can the older Senior Do Yoga or Zumba?

Yes, of course!  Seniors can practice yoga and zumba in their 70’s, 80’s and beyond. This service is  perfect for seniors living at home or in a care facility. What make us different from others is that we work entirely with seniors.  Our classes are modified so that they the exercises are done sitting in a chair or wheelchair.  The seniors will not be asked to lie down on the floor.  If the senior is able to stand, we can also do some standing work too.

Do you offer private classes or group classes?

Spiteri Recreation Therapy Services offers both.  We teach seniors in their own home, whether that’s in the community or in a long term care facility or retirement home.  We’ll come to you!  Most of our group classes are taught in facilities such as hospitals, long term care and retirement homes and are coordinated through the recreation therapy staff in those facilities.  We recommend no more than 20 participants in our group classes.

What is the fee for your service?

Spiteri Recreation Therapy Services offers a competitive hourly rate for our services.  We differ from our competitors since we don’t force you to pay up front or sign a contract.  You simply pay as you go for what you need!

Private sessions with a personal trainer, Zumba/yoga instructor – $90 for one hour, no contract required.

Private Sessions FOR TWO with a personal trainer, Zumba/Yoga instructor -$90 for one hour, no contract required.  Bring a friend/family and split the cost!  You are welcome to try a session to see if it’s a good fit.  In fact, we recommend it.

Group classes – $90 per class, no contract required.  You are welcome to try a class to see if it’s a good fit. In fact, we recommend it.

Workshops – $100, 1 hour long.  30 min is education-based and 30 min is devoted to practicing some of the exercises you just learned!

Are all your instructors certified?

Yes! Our staff are highly educated in the fields of Personal Training, Yoga, or Zumba and are all certified and insured.  We have years of  experience working with the elderly and are extremely knowledgeable about the health issues elders face. We have experience working in hospitals, retirement homes and long term care homes. The same instructor will come for every session as we know this helps develop and maintain a trusting relationship between the instructor and your loved one.  We teach mindfully, keeping the seniors’ safety our first priority.

It is clear to me that these Zumba classes are perfect for the seniors who live in this  home.  Even though most of the seniors here are wheelchair bound, the classes are perfectly suitable as the exercises are all adapted so that they can all participate.
